First Haircut

Allow me to brag about my son for a minute. The boy has beautiful hair. It is thick, shiny, wavy and full of natural highlights. It's the kind of hair that makes grown women jealous, myself included. The only downside is that it grows ridiculously fast. I have been giving him regular trims since he was two months old and sometimes those trims are less than two weeks apart. While I love his hair long and thick, it had gotten out of control in recent weeks, mainly due to Evan constantly getting food in it and me constantly having to wash it. So, we decided to take him for his first real haircut this weekend. Honestly, we had no idea how this would go! Luckily, he had fun sitting in an airplane and watching some cartoons, while the stylist worked away. He was a pro right up until the little boy next to him started crying and then it was downhill from there. A taste of his first lollipop soothed his fears a bit, but then the stylist used the clippers on him. Total meltdown! Boy haircuts are so much more invasive than girls'. Yikes! After some hugs and kisses from his daddy and me, Evan calmed down and walked away with a handsome new 'do. I loved the experience and will always remember seeing my baby boy turn into a little boy right before my eyes.

Happy to be home and safe
