Easter

Easter was pretty special in our house this year. Besides having absolutely perfect weather all weekend long, we enjoyed our time with Evan and our friends, Emily, Josh and their son, Jackson. On Saturday morning we took the boys to an Easter egg hunt in Chapel Hill. Unfortunately, the bigger kids made their way to the eggs faster than Evan and Jackson, so they only ended up finding two eggs each. They didn't mind, though, because they were much more interested in playing in the dirt. Evan's favorite part of all was meeting the Easter Bunny. We were certain that he would be afraid of him, especially after his stint with Santa, but he couldn't get enough of him. I think Evan was the only kid there who wasn't completely freaked out by the big pink bunny walking around.

On Sunday morning Evan woke up and searched for his basket. He eventually found it underneath the dining room table, right where the Easter Bunny hid it. He loved discovering all the treats inside, including new crayons, bubble bath and some pirate pajamas. After Skyping with family, Evan enjoyed an egg hunt in our backyard. He was so excited to find all of the eggs and would run to each one as he shrieked with excitement.

Later that afternoon, Emily, Josh and Jackson came over for Easter dinner. We had a great time relaxing and watching the boys play in the backyard. The food was delicious and the mojitos were perfect for the gorgeous spring day. A good time was had by all.
